The following are the magnificent mosaics that we saw in Charters Towers. They were the height of a tall single story office block.
The combined effort was 5,000,000 mosaic tiles. They depict the history of Charters Towers.
Words failed us.
The following images are all mosaics. The photos were taken from around 10 metres from each section of the huge mosaic.
All of the writing - on all of the mosaics - could be clearly seen and read from where I took the photos. The stones in the cemetery were particularly poignant.
